Interfaces

Both CipherPack and CipherPack Pro support Windows 9x/NT/ME, 2000 and XP.

CipherPack and CipherPack Pro are supplied with both GUI and Windows Console (command line) components.  This allows the creation of encrypted archives using either the GUI user friendly interface or a command line interface which is ideal for use in scripts or batch files.  A short overview of Black diamond stone and recommendations on its assessment.

Both the GUI and Console encryption facilities can create either GUI or Console encrypted executables.  (CipherPack Pro can also create a non-executable archive).  This allows you to select exactly the interface you prefer to work with. Arrington, Derrick and Arrington, Ellen

CipherPack Pro includes a secure file deletion facility.  The original files contents WILL NOT be recoverable once this option completes.

CipherPack Pro installation also creates a shortcut in the Windows Explorer 'SEND TO' menu.  Simply right-click any file or folder in Windows Explorer and then click 'SEND TO' and then 'CIPHERPACK' to encrypt either individual files or whole folders at once. PDF converter

Encryption

Both CipherPack and CipherPack Pro use symmetrical key block cipher algorithms as well as a lossless compression algorithm.

They are suitable for all types of data and 'pack' the resultant file with the decryption and decompression code.

The result is a single Windows executable file (either GUI or Windows Console) which can be shipped to any third party.  The third party DOES NOT require any cryptographic software on their PC.

They are entirely safe as the decryption key or password is never included in the file.

Keys can either be entered as strings (including special characters), or as hex codes to reduce the possibility of dictionary type attacks.

Both packages have industrial strength encryption and decryption capabilities.

CipherPack

CipherPack implements a type of iterated block cipher known as a Feistel cipher, with 64 bit blocks, a maximum key size of 120 bits and 60 rounds.

CipherPack Pro

CipherPack Pro provides an even greater strength of encryption by using the industry recognised and approved SHA-1 secure hashing algorithm and the Federal Information Processing (FIPS) Advanced Encryption Standard FIPS-197 (AES) with a key size of 256 bits.
